Before filing to run for New Castle County Council District 4, Curtis Linton spoke publicly about data centers. In his remarks to County Council, he opposed Ordinance 25-101—the first county ordinance written specifically to regulate hyperscale data centers.
Since entering the race, Linton has not publicly discussed the issue.
This matters because Ordinance 25-101 wasn't a proposal to ban data centers. It established New Castle County's first regulations for facilities of this scale, including standards for setbacks, generator noise, water use, environmental protections, and requiring companies to take responsibility for the impacts they create.
In the video above, I examine Linton's public comments and ask a simple question: What exactly was he opposing? Rather than relying on campaign talking points, you can watch his own words, understand what the ordinance actually did, and decide for yourself.
